What are the main types of prepaid water meters on the market?

Prepaid water meters follow the “pay first, use water later” model. Users need to recharge in advance, and the system will deduct fees based on actual water consumption. The mainstream types of prepaid water meters on the market currently include the following:

IC card prepaid water meters:
This type of water meter uses IC cards as the medium for recharge and data transmission. Users complete recharge through IC cards, and the chip in the card stores recharge information and water consumption records. During operation, users insert the IC card into the water meter reader to recharge, check balance, etc.

STS prepaid water meters:
STS water meters follow international standards and use standardized communication protocols and encryption algorithms. Users recharge by purchasing encrypted tags (Tokens) and need to enter Tokens on the water meter encryption keyboard. After the water meter system decrypts and verifies the validity of the Token, it calculates the fee based on the preset water price.

Wireless valve-controlled prepaid water meters:
This type of water meter integrates wireless communication technology and valve control functions. After users recharge, they are charged according to usage, and the system supports remote valve control. When the user’s balance is insufficient, the valve can be closed remotely to stop the water supply until the user completes the recharge.
