Last week, our team had the opportunity to exhibit at ASIA WATER 2026 in Kuala Lumpur — one of the region’s most influential platforms for water industry professionals.
As smart water meter manufacturers, we went in with an open mind. What we found was a concentrated gathering of familiar names, rising regional players, and a clear signal: the intelligent water metering market in Southeast Asia is accelerating — not just in technology adoption, but in healthy competition and collaboration.
From booth conversations to hallway exchanges, a few observations stood out:
🔹 Global standards, local adaptations – Leading brands are showcasing high-accuracy, low-power solutions, but customization for local water conditions and billing infrastructure remains a key differentiator.
🔹 Connectivity is no longer a luxury – NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, and even hybrid communication modules were widely featured. The industry is moving beyond basic AMR toward true smart water management.
🔹 OEM and ODM discussions are maturing – Several international buyers and utilities showed serious interest in technical partnerships, not just product purchases.
We were pleased to reconnect with familiar industry peers and engage in technical exchanges — no sales pitches, just honest dialogue about what works, what doesn’t, and where the real challenges lie.
ASIA WATER reinforced our belief: the future of water metering is not about one company winning alone, but about raising the bar together through transparency, reliability, and interoperability.
Thank you to the organizers and everyone who stopped by for a candid conversation. We left with more clarity — and more respect for the pace of innovation in this region.
