We are proud to reflect on a truly memorable week at the WISA Biennial Conference and Exhibition 2026, held from 22 to 24 July in Cape Town. Among the many highlights, one moment stood out as particularly significant for our team.
We were deeply honoured to welcome @Hon. Pemmy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation, and @Mr. Lester Goldman, Chief Executive Officer of WISA, to the Tengyue Metering booth (Booth 41) during the exhibition.
Their visit was not merely a courtesy call. It was an opportunity for meaningful, in-depth dialogue on the most pressing water challenges facing Southern Africa today. Both leaders engaged extensively with our team, taking a close interest in our latest technologies and the practical solutions we bring to the region’s water sector.
Live Demonstrations Under a Shared Theme
This year’s conference theme—“Rethinking Water, Securing Our Future” —resonated deeply with our mission at Tengyue Metering. It was therefore fitting that during the visit, we conducted live, on-site demonstrations of our TY Leakage Monitoring, a key component of our broader medição inteligente portfolio.
The demonstrations offered a compelling, real-world view of how our technology can help utilities tackle Água Não Faturada (ANF) head-on. With water scarcity intensifying across Southern Africa and aging infrastructure contributing to significant losses, the need for practical, deployable NRW solutions has never been more urgent.
Our TY Leakage Monitoring System is designed to detect anomalies in real time, enabling utilities to identify leaks, bursts, and inefficiencies before they escalate into costly crises. It is one example of how Tengyue Metering translates complex data into actionable insights—helping utilities operate more efficiently, reduce water loss, and protect both resources and revenue.
According to South Africa’s 2023 No Drop Report, the country’s NRW level stands at approximately 47.3%, representing an annual loss of around 1.8 billion kilolitres of treated water. This stark reality underscores the urgent need for advanced leakage monitoring technologies that can deliver measurable impact.
A Commitment to Partnership and a Sustainable Future
At Tengyue Metering, we believe that technology alone is not enough. Lasting change requires collaboration—across government, industry, utilities, and communities.
The engagement with Minister Majodina and Mr. Goldman reinforced our conviction that partnerships are the foundation of a water-secure future. Their interest in our work and their openness to exploring innovative approaches to NRW management are testament to a shared commitment: to build a more resilient and sustainable water sector for all.
